HUMAN RIGHTS

OUR COMMITMENT TO HUMAN RIGHTS

At GeoPark, we define human rights as the inalienable rights of every human being regardless of race, sex, nationality, ethnicity, language, religion or any other status. We are committed to creating an environment in which everyone is treated with respect, dignity and fairness, and without discrimination of any kind. We believe every person has equal value, the freedom to express their ideas, the right to make their own decisions and the support to develop their full potential.

This commitment is embodied by the way we align our principles and values with our goals and responsibilities. This is not a recent development: it was the first step we took when founding our Company to define who we are and how we act. Learn about our Commitment to Human Rights here.

ACTIONS

THE “CUÉNTAME” PROGRAM: OUR BEST WAY OF GETTING CLOSE TO OUR NEIGHBORS
Logo Cuentame

GeoPark uses the “Cuéntame” program to listen to our neighbors and create a structure to give timely and effective attention to the worries, concerns and requests they may have, resolving and managing issues to ensure direct and permanent relationships with our social environment.

SOCIAL LICENSE AND DUE DILIGENCE

Our commitment to being good neighbors begins with the identification and early analysis of the social environment risks and their qualitative and quantitative evaluation. Early analysis and the definition of management plans allow us to ensure the successful and responsible development of our operations.

STAKEHOLDER DIALOGUE AND CONSULTATION

Our dialogue and citizen participation processes ensure direct and honest relationships with our stakeholders, and our relationship processes guarantee inclusive and fair citizen participation.

Logo Fundación para la reconciliación

At GeoPark we are convinced of the importance of knowing, through a dialogue of equals, the expectations of the social, community and institutional leaders of the municipalities directly influenced by our operations. In partnership with the Foundation for Reconciliation, we transformed the approach to conflicts with rural and urban leaders of Villanueva with the implementation of the ESPERE forgiveness and reconciliation centers and the development of the 'Leaders for good coexistence' program.
