Committed to the sustainable development of Casanare and improving its neighbors’ living conditions, GeoPark has created new opportunities in education, communication, and the local economy by helping to provide Internet access to more than 80 families in rural areas of Tauramena and Villanueva in the south of the department.

This Christmas, the GeoPark team shared moments of magic and happiness with more than 13,000 children from communities in Casanare, Meta, and Putumayo in Colombia and Shushufindi in Ecuador, who were given presents and took part in recreational activities and traditional celebrations that brought whole families together.

GeoPark and the Escuela Nueva Volvamos a la Gente Foundation (FEN) have partnered to improve the quality of education in seven rural schools that are part of the Regional Center for Research, Education and Extension (CRIEET) in Tauramena, Casanare. By strengthening learning and development opportunities, the project benefits more than 520 children in primary education.
