Media Room > GeoPark publishes its 2021 SPEED/ESG Sustainability Report November 21, 2022 Bogota, Colombia. – GeoPark, a leading independent Latin American oil and gas exploration and production company with operations in Colombia, Ecuador, Chile and Brazil, has published its 2021 SPEED/ESG Sustainability Report on its social, environmental and corporate governance management and its contributions to sustainable development in the territories it operates in and information showing the evolution of its business. The report on the Company’s sustainability progress includes the launch of GeoPark’s Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction Strategy that has decisive short, medium and long-term goals, the implementation of socio-environmental partnerships to benefit neighboring communities, the management of the value chain, and equality, inclusion and diversity initiatives. “Our 2021 SPEED/ESG Report, Creating Value and Giving Back, reflects the goal we aim for every day. GeoPark’s strategic sustainability framework is based on aligning our priorities with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and this report includes its main indicators and targets,” GeoPark CEO Andrés Ocampo said. GeoPark’s sustainability management in 2021, as detailed in the Report, includes: · Socio-environmental investment programs that benefited 288,000 neighbors through socio-environmental investment programs. · A sustainable housing program that improves housing quality for GeoPark neighbors in Casanare and Putumayo winning an award from the Colombian government for the second time. · Obtaining the Equipares Silver Award from Colombia’s Ministry of Labor for GeoPark’s commitment to promoting equality, inclusion and diversity. · GeoPark’s inclusion in the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index 2022 for its best practices in implementing and reporting gender equality. · Support and sponsorship to 14 local contractors in Colombia to obtain Good Labor Practices certification. · Taking first place in the equality, inclusion and diversity category of the fourth edition of the WIN Awards, held by the Colombian chapter of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). · Training 100% of employees in ethics and compliance. The 2021 SPEED/ESG Report was prepared under the guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), incorporating indicators from the sustainability reporting guide of the World Oil and Gas Association to Promote Environmental and Social Performance (IPIECA) and the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB).
