GeoPark receives social responsibility recognition in Ecuador

GeoPark, a leading independent Latin American energy company, has been acknowledged as a socially responsible company by CERES, Ecuador’s largest network of social responsibility and sustainability organizations. This distinction highlights the quality of the socio-environmental practices implemented by the Company in its operations in the country.

In a process in which hundreds of business initiatives from different sectors participated, GeoPark was one of the 68 companies honored to be awarded the Distintivo ESR® recognition. The evaluation by CERES experts covered more than 116 indicators related to governance, social commitment and care for the environment.

“This recognition reflects the commitment and dedication of our Ecuador team and their inspiration by our SPEED values, and positions GeoPark as a benchmark for social responsibility in the sector as a company that promotes progress and development in the regions where it operates. We are very proud of the ESR distinction, which strengthens our commitment to continue working for a more sustainable future for Ecuador,” GeoPark’s Ecuador Country Manager Johnnie Velasco said.

CERES, the Ecuadorian Corporation for Social Responsibility and Sustainability, awarded GeoPark the recognition in its fourth annual edition of ESR acknowledgement to organizations that stand out for developing innovative and high-impact social and environmental programs and which are committed to promoting sustainability in Ecuador.
