Media Room >GeoPark underscores its commitment to road safetyBogotá, Colombia.December 13, 2024 Safety has been a critical pillar of GeoPark’s integrated values system and sustainability vision since being founded in 2002, and through its ‘I Bet on Road Safety’ program the Company continues to promote safe road use in Casanare, Meta and Putumayo departments, the departments in Colombia where it has operations.In 2024, GeoPark’s significant road safety progress included:Delivering over 200 teaching activities aimed at drivers, passengers, pedestrians and the community to prevent vehicle incidents on roads near operations.Enhancing standards for lifting, special transport, dangerous goods, dry cargo, non-hazardous liquids and construction machinery, to mitigate road safety risks.Implementing an incentive and sanction program to reinforce best practices and correct unsafe behaviors on roads.Holding 100 preventive campaigns to promote a culture of road safety focused on the use of seat belts, respect for speed limits, vehicle inspection and other key issues.“Our commitment to road safety goes further than the rules,” GeoPark Health and Safety Manager Carlos Gomez said. “GeoPark aims to help change the behavior of all road users to build a culture of respect and road safety.
