Colombia

Low-Risk, Low-Cost, High-Potential Exploration Projects and Producing Assets in the Proven Llanos and Putumayo Basins.

A leading independent operator in Colombia with over 3.4 million gross exploratory and productive acres across 22 blocks
We started production in Colombia in 2012 and have since become the country’s second largest oil operator. Our key asset is the Llanos 34 Block where we introduced a new geological play and have drilled more than 100 highly profitable wells. With approximately 49 future development drilling locations identified (2P, gross)*.

This is the Llanos 34 block in Colombia
A large-scale project in one of the most attractive oil basins in Latin America. Find out more about a project that produces 8% of Colombia’s national oil output and in which safety, commitment to the local communities, and respect towards the environment are paramount.

CPO-5: Unlocking the Upside
With the acquisition of six new high-potential exploration blocks in 2019 and the addition in 2020 of the CPO-5 Block, operated by our strategic partner ONGC Videsh, we have a contiguous land position of over one million gross acres in one of the most productive and high-potential areas of the Llanos basin. At CPO-5, we are only just beginning to scratch the surface. Production and reserve growth since our acquisition of this highly attractive block underscores the project’s potential.

Llanos Basin:
Low-risk exploration portfolio to sustain future growth
Jointly with Hocol, we acquired five
low-cost, low-risk and high-potential exploration blocks in the Llanos Basin, surrounding the Llanos 34 Block, and we also signed an agreement with Parex to assume a 50% working interest in the Llanos 94 and CPO-4-1 Blocks.
Putumayo Basin: Significant Exploration Potential
Entry into the Putumayo basin in 2020 gave us access to an underexplored high-potential hydrocarbon basin, logistically integrated and part of the rich Oriente-Putumayo petroleum system spanning Colombia and Ecuador. This is a prolific basin with existing production in our Platanillo block, a binational crude oil export pipeline, and significant exploration potential.
